I have been in North Carolina most of my life but had the awesome experience of living in Europe for nine years. While in Europe I took an affinity to French, absorbing the language and culture and undeniable fashion sense. The French have a way with fashion that I could not help but appreciate. It became a part of me and my style would never be the same. I have been creating and painting faces, framing brows, styling and wardrobing since the age of 12.
In 1994, I began to dabble with make-up and fashion trends. In college, my dormitory door had postings of my services along with pricing. Off-campus clientele were coming on campus to have me do their hair and eyebrows. Constantly told I was gifted, I did not compeletely yield to that gift by way of trade. I didn't quite yet understand that my gift would make room for me. Through the years, I continued to dabble in makeup and fashion "on the side". In 2007 something clicked in me as clear as ice: "Work in your calling!" I was seriously unfulfilled, grumpy even. I realized that it was only when I was working in my passion (the thing that drives me, the thing I think about before I go to bed and wake up thinking about) that I was energized! Bringing out the beauty in someone gives me unparalleled, matchless pleasure and fulfillment.
Having worked on about every skin tone, texture and type in the past few years, my development as an artist has grown exponentially. Just as important, it has given me an appreciation for beauty in all packaging.
Today I run my own business doing what I love and hold dear. I am very proud of that. When I'm not blending liner and lipstick or doing lash extensions, I enjoy time with my husband and my son, travel and reading and a spoon or two of Ben & Jerry's.
